JMD Crafts has been in business for 36 years. We opened our doors on March 1, 1988, in Queen Street in Kensington. We have moved several times since then firstly to Central Avenue Edenvale, then onto Richards Drive in Midrand and we will now be staying permanently on a smallholding @118 Allan Road in Glen Austin Midrand.
My mother Jean Melville & I, Margaret Melville started out as JMDolls & Porcelain which remains our registered name. We felt the need to change our trading name as we now stock so many different craft supplies.
I have always felt that nothing is worthwhile doing if it is not done properly so I have always sourced the best quality supplies. I believe that an artist/crafter is only as good as his tools & I only use the best tools available. I refuse to waste my time trying to create using inferior products as this removes the thrill of making things and I make lots of things. I have a deep love for porcelain, ceramics & crafting in general. I did my training in porcelain dollmaking & ceramics in America & for many years was one of the leading international importers of these supplies into South Africa. Nothing makes me happier than to see & make beautiful things.
JMD Crafts does not have a shop front. All orders are to be placed on line or by email. You may call and collect by appointment only.
